I have seen firsthand the power of community to influence public safety - in Pigtown, we reduced homicides to zero for 2 consecutive years through community organizing, public art installations, adding more lighting, and improving traffic safety.

I support community-based and community-led initiatives that support solutions tailored to each neighborhood’s needs. 

I will introduce legislation that will unlock grant funding for community groups to expand their work and make their neighborhoods safer through proactive action. 

My housing and education policies will create long-term safety in communities by stabilizing communities, rebuilding and strengthening Baltimore’s middle class, and increasing educational attainment.
